Fundraising
As the events of the last 30 months begin to revert to a more 'normal' state, so do our Scouting activities. This season, we are raising funds to support our program for the next year. Funds raised will be used for maintenance of our fleet of vessels, as well as program offerings such as our annual Long Cruise and other activities as planned by the youth leadership.
In order to achieve our fundraising target, we are happy to present two options : a Sponsorship opportunity for Wreaths Across America, and a traditional Holiday Wreath fundraiser. For more information on each option, please continue reading below.
Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission of Wreaths Across America to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at more than 2,500 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad. Ship 1701 is proud to have participated in the wreath laying ceremonies at the Houston National Cemetery, as well as other Veterans Cemeteries across the Houston Area, over the last several years. This year we are joining in the sponsorship to make sure as many wreaths as possible are available to honor those who served.
